Vitamin C Infusions
One of the most popular infusions in my practice in Heidelberg is the high-dose vitamin C infusion.
This popularity is very logical, because vitamin C supports the immune system, is vital for the connective tissue, fights against free radicals.
Therefore, this infusion is especially recommended in the following cases:
– Infectious diseases
– Inflammatory diseases
– Injuries
– Arteriosclerosis
– Allergies
– Smokers
– Athletes
– Stress
– Biological Cancer Treatment
– Rheumatoid arthritis
– Musculoskeletal disorders and neurological disorders
The treatment takes place in several sessions, the number will depend on the individual needs and goals.
In this therapy a high-dose vitamin C infusion solution is injected into the patient’s bloodstream.
The ascorbic acid is highly concentrated (7.5 g or 15 g). Therefore, the ascorbic acid must be diluted with a suitable carrier solution.
The carrier solution is 0.9% saline, a so-called isotonic saline solution. It takes at least 100 ml of this saline solution to infuse 50 ml of 7.5 g. The final infusion solution is then administered with a so-called infusion set and a butterfly cannula (or Braunüle = peripheral venous catheter).
Such an infusion takes about 30-45 minutes.
Before and after a vitamin C infusion, you should drink plenty of water or tea to prevent the formation of kidney stones.
I look forward to meeting you and supply you with more information about the high-dose vitamin C infusion.
